2009 Moravian Hall Square Employee Awards

 

Matthew K. Morris Friend of Hall Square Award: Lynn Murray, Director of Resident Services, during the 2009 Employee Awards ceremony January 28. The award is given to a member of leadership staff.

Professional Excellence Award for Supervisors: Colleen Murphy, Sales Coordinator, and Terri Vian, Service Improvement Coordinator.

 Power of Community Award: Laurie Brunstetter, Recreation and Enrichment, Harry Turtschanow, Maintenance, Kim Daniels, Nursing.

 Employee of the Year: Maria Lopes, Dining Services, chosen from 12 Employees of the Month.

 Dale Reddinger Customer Service Awards: Jeffrey Vennel, Dining Services, Edward Rogers, Maintenance, Janelle DeLong, Nursing, Michael Gillmer, Administration.

 Great Sense of Humor Award: Donna Henshue, Resident Health & Wellness.

 Alice E. Snyder Nursing Award: Sandy Snyder.

Moravian Hall Square Welcomes New D.O.N.

Joseph Shadid recently was welcomed as the new Director of Nursing. Joe and his wife Sonia have two daughters and are expecting a baby boy in March. He lives in Bethlehem and has lived all of his life in the Lehigh Valley. Joe graduated from Penn State University (B.S. in Health Policy and Administration & B.S. in Psychology and Family Studies) and was a tight end for their football team. Joe obtained his B.S. in Nursing from Cedar Crest College and has a Masters in Nursing & Business Administration from DeSales University. He comes to Moravian Hall Square from Manor Care Old Orchard and has worked for Lehigh Valley Hospital. In his spare time he fences, lifts weights and is pursuing his PhD. Joe succeeds Wendy Smolenak who retired from Moravian Hall Square, having served 22 years, first as Assistant Director of Nurses and then Director.

New Medical Office Constructed

Dr. Simrat Kaur, our in house physician for Moravian Springs Health Center, will be available for appointments of residents and staff at Moravian Hall Square in a newly constructed medical office. It will be a satellite office of Nazareth Family Practice on campus and will therefore handle billing and third party insurance claims in the same manner. Dr. Kaur is board certified in Internal and Geriatric medicine.

A medical assistant will take phone calls at 610-746-1164 and schedule appointments for Residential Living, Personal Care residents as well as family consultations from all areas.↑ Back to Top
