Description of Funds

General Endowment – a perpetual fund that enables the Board of Directors of Moravian Hall Square to address campus preservation needs and to meet the ever-increasing costs of facility upkeep. Earnings may be used at the discretion of the Board of Directors for both capital and operating needs at Moravian Hall Square.

Good Samaritan Annual Fund – gifts directly support current operational loss from those in the community who can no longer personally pay the full cost of their care. Most often, those needing assistance reside in the skilled nursing or personal care areas.

Good Samaritan Endowment – established in 1989, this endowment was instituted to provide on-going financial support to residents who spent down their financial resources in payment for health care. Showing compassion, dignity and providing security to individuals in a benevolent fashion through an endowed fund upholds the mission and ministry of the community.

Kortz Hall Endowment – provide financial support for the maintenance and preservation of Kortz Hall, a large multi-purpose room used for worship, arts and enrichment events, education and community programming. The room is named to memorialize and honor the ministry of the community’s first chaplain, The Right Reverent Edwin Kortz.

Staff Development Endowment – we are aware that our community’s greatest asset besides the residents, is clearly the staff who strive to make a positive difference in the lives of residents and the community. Earnings from the fund are available as grants for the professional development of staff and educational opportunities for our health care providers. Scholarships for directed educational pursuits are managed through this fund.↑ Back to Top
